Czech the News Tonight: Police Reform

Many American law enforcement officers know that there is one country famous for its breeding and training of police dogs: the Czech Republic. According to Newsweek, the animals raised there can sell anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 dollars and are sold worldwide, from the United States to Germany to Russia.

Although these dogs are typically German and Belgian Shepherds, TV Nova has reported that the Czech Police are considering some serious reform regarding their use of police dogs.

Instead of German Shepherds, the police in Czechia have begun training a different breed to identify explosives, locate drugs, and attack command.

If this program proves successful in the Czech Republic, perhaps one day soon we will see this dog help police departments around the world.
