Inspire students!

CCMH is in the process of extending our educational programming by creating new exhibits and associated lesson plans for teachers. We aim to provide an accessible program for schools and students with a focus on student field trips and digital learning.

In early 2020 we opened the Surviving Through Art Exhibit and the Creative Activism Project, currently available here.  This project allows students to learn about young people’s experiences in the Terezin Concentration Camp and gives them creative tools to express themselves.  In addition to learning about the experiences of those who suffered under fascism in World War II, we hope our participants will learn healthy ways to articulate themselves in times of stress and worry.

Currently, we have several other projects supporting online learning the works, including a Digital Folk Art Resource. The Digital Folk Art Resource will help students develop an understanding of folk art as lived art and inspire them to reinterpret the art styles in their own lives. This project will be available to the public in 2021.

We find beauty and value in the glorious vibrant patterns of the many cultures that make up the patchwork quilt of America, and we are eager to share this beauty with young people.
